Meeting of Cultures – Thank you to the Dunaj Institute of Dialogue Foundation

🌙 An evening of flavors, music and cultural encounter 🌙

Our school was honored to be invited to an Iftar dinner — the evening meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan — by the Foundation Dunaj Institute of Dialogue.

We shared a table filled with traditional Turkish dishes while the enchanting sounds of the Turkish ney flute filled the room. Our school choir performed for our generous hosts — a small gift of song in return. 🎶

We also learned about the beautiful Ottoman tradition of “tooth rent” — giving small gifts to guests after the Iftar meal, as a token of gratitude for sharing in the feast. We each went home with a little gift and a lot of wonderful memories!

A heartfelt thank you to the Foundation Dunaj for your warmth, openness and hospitality — and for constantly raising awareness that dialogue between cultures isn’t just a concept. It’s a shared table, a shared song, and a shared smile. 🤝✨
