effective communikation

THE POWER OF COMMUNICATION. HOW TO SPEAK SO THAT WE ARE HEARD? – Why is it so important not only while learning the polish language? (Episode I)

How to speak so that we are heard? Why is effective communication so important not only when learning Polish?

The Polish Language School for Foreigners KLUB DIALOGU is a unique place where not only Polish lessons take place, but where we passionately share Polish tradition, culture, and lifestyle. We understand DIALOGUE as effective communication, full acceptance of the diversity of cultures, openness to exchanging thoughts, and the willingness to get to know each other. That’s why we like to talk so much ?.

That’s all (and so much) about KLUB DIALOGU School. What does sociological research say?

Many sociological studies show that the effectiveness of our communication (i.e., whether we are heard and understood) depends largely on our origin (country, region, family, community) and cultural experiences.

Deborah Tannen is a professor of linguistics and author of many publications on interpersonal communication, which proves that competent people are not always listened to. It turns out that HOW something is said more important than WHAT is said.

Language is not only a tool for communicating information, and learning Polish is not only a verbal statement.

Everything we want to say has to be said in the right way. Therefore, depending on the situation, we adjust the tone of the voice, its intensity, and even the speed of speech. Elements such as addressing the other person directly or indirectly, choice of words, a pause, and even the use of questions or apologies are important. These are cultural signals that not only communicate what we mean, but evaluate us as human beings.

For example, a discreet PAUSE. A pause that appears in a dialogue between two people. In each country, and even region of the same country, it is treated as ‘natural’ in a different way. In NY City, the long pause in speech is unbearable, so people keep talking until their interlocutor cuts in. Meanwhile, in Texas – only a longer pause allows the interlocutor to express his opinion. This slight difference in conversation style can have a huge impact on communication and how we will be judged.

When learning Polish (or any other foreign language), make sure that your style of expression is respected. People from all over the world apply for a group Polish language course, which is why it is so important to respect each other’s communication styles. Italians are said to speak loudly and quickly, which is why they dominate the rest of the group. The Japanese are withdrawn and don’t ‘cut people off’; because of this, they can avoid interactions.

Polish is difficult, and learning Polish as a foreign language can be exhausting, so a pleasant atmosphere during Polish lessons will be an advantage when we want to be heard.

‘Me’, ‘mine’, ‘ours’ – how to communicate effectively and emphasize your own value? Take this also into account when learning Polish

You probably heard often how the leader of your team brags about your joint project saying: ‘My project has received the recognition of the CEO!’.

Deborah Tannen’s research on the style of expression shows that it is mostly men who will use the words ‘me’, and ‘mine’, when it comes to teamwork, as opposed to women, who will judge even their own work as ‘our project’, expecting – sometimes unsuccessfully – that someone else will appreciate them. Ultimately, whoever fights for it and communicates loudly gains recognition and is heard.

You probably noticed that women are in majority in KLUB DIALOGU Polish Language School ?. It just so happened, but thanks to this, we are a perfectly harmonious and a strong team, which together builds its values and creates its identity. During Polish language courses, we try to praise our students a lot and encourage them to learn. This is important because although self-motivation is the key to success, the incentive of the teacher is the fuel that drives this motivation. Don’t forget to celebrate even those little successes. Talk about them. This naturally affects fantastic development, and learning Polish becomes an adventure and a pleasure!

Self-confidence gives many benefits in personal life and has a positive effect on learning Polish

Self-confidence is one of the main attributes that determine whether someone wants to listen to you. Especially in large corporations, it is this feature that determines whether the CEO (or another director) will decide on your case to be YES or NO. Your credibility and diligence is hidden precisely in self-confidence.

Research by psychologist Lauren Heatherington and her team shows that women are more likely to downplay their certainty; men are more likely to minimize their doubts. This is important information that is worth working on.

And again, the association with learning Polish comes to mind. If you do not know which grammatical form to use in a sentence, just be confident and the interlocutor will not even notice minor mistakes. They will be delighted that you speak Polish! Acceptance to make mistakes is one of the key values. It opens the mind to ‘learning from one’s own mistakes’, thus accelerating the process of learning Polish as a foreign language.

You can also practice during the Polish language lessons at KLUB DIALOGU School as much as you want. Be confident and learning Polish will bring the desired results! Check your language level, choose a Polish course for yourself and join us today!

Direct speech is an important part of effective communication. It is worth taking this into account when learning Polish

We all know that it is better to be clear about what we mean. Unfortunately, indirect speech is much more often used in communication between people. This is an element that distinguishes the culture of one country from another and can cause great confusion.

In Poland, you have probably encountered a direct form of giving orders, which could be offensive to you. A Polish boss will say: ‘The accountant needs help with the wage slips, help him tomorrow morning’.

On the other hand, the greatest value in Far Eastern culture is the ability to communicate whilst not speaking directly, in order to ‘not lose face’. For example, the Chinese are very sensitive to the so-called ‘loss of face’. It means that even trivial (from the point of view of a European) mishaps can be considered a total embarrassment. So we will not hear from a Chinese person that we are poor employees, that we speak Chinese or English poorly, or that we are doing something wrong. Any comments will always be articulated very politely, indirectly, like ‘maybe you could change the method’, ‘I think if you would do it this way, you would do it even better’.

Another example?

Have you eaten today? – a Chinese person will often ask you. A European might perceive it as an invitation to lunch or dinner. However, it’s just like our ‘how are you today?’. We should not answer this question in the negative, because it is not about whether we have actually already eaten today. The Chinese explain this by the poverty that prevailed in China in the past and in which time this greeting was born. It had a literal meaning at the time, but today it is just a simple greeting.

Conclusion: Both direct and indirect speech can be effective forms of communication as long as the chosen style is understood equally by both parties.

Working in such a diverse environment as the Polish Language School for Foreigners KLUB DIALOGU, we must constantly observe and learn the communication styles presented by our students. This is an extremely important cultural aspect that affects whether students will be willing to learn Polish or not. Learning Polish as a foreign language requires a direct form, especially at lower levels. A student with a limited vocabulary is also forced to use direct phrases, even if they may sound rude (for example in a shop: ‘give milk’). Do not give up. Practice is the most important thing!

The Polish language course guarantees that the student will learn a lot about Polish culture, the communication styles used (e.g. formal and informal), colloquial speech, what is allowed and what is considered rude. Talking to other students is also learning Polish, which broadens your horizons.

Conclusion: How to speak so that we are listened to and why is it so important not only when learning Polish?

So what is the most effective way to communicate in order to be heard and understood (also in a foreign language, for example, in Polish)?

There is no one answer.

Effective communication is not just about saying what we mean. HOW we say it is important. And the style of communication (how we speak and listen) differs significantly between people. It is influenced by many factors, such as: the situation in which we found ourselves, culture (country, work), subordination in an organisation, cultural experiences, or who we talk to. Therefore, we can easily get into trouble when we want to interpret someone else’s statement through our prism.

When learning Polish as a foreign language, many misunderstandings can arise. It is important to talk about them. This is one of the reasons why Polish language lessons at KLUB DIALOGU School are available. The huge variety of students from all over the world (from America to Japan) means that we can learn from each other. It is worth having courage, asking, making mistakes, communicating, looking at your strengths and using them.

Each Polish language course is a unique adventure that we undertake together with our students.

We know the Laureate of the SUMMER COMPETITION! ? We’d like to remind you of the rules: 1. Visit 7 recommended places during the holidays (July – August), 2. And the laureate was: ……. KLUB DIALOGU. We visited all 7 places. We are sad that none of our students succeeded. Next year is another chance! ?

gramatyka polskiego

Polish language grammar is largely associated with suffixes – should I be afraid?

For a large group of students, one of the most difficult aspects of Polish grammar is declension, that is – the changing endings of nouns and adjectives. Why does one word have multiple versions? There are languages – for example, the most popular language in the world – English, in which we can use one word in many ways, e.g. ‘coffee’ – I like coffee. I don’t like coffee. I dream about coffee. With a coffee in hand across the world. So in any sentence construction a given word is used in the same form.

In Polish grammar, however, the situation looks different. In Polish the word ‘kawa’ (coffee) – in those same constructions like above in English is like this: ‘Lubię kawę’ (accusative – I like coffee). ‘Nie lubię kawy’ (genitive – I don’t like coffee). ‘Z kawą przez świat’ (instrumental – with a coffee in hand across the world).

This is all the fault of declension, meaning the variation by 7 ‘cases’: Nominative, Genitive, Accusative, Dative, Instrumental, Locative, and Vocative, in Polish: Mianownik, Dopełniacz, Biernik, Celownik, Narzędnik, Miejscownik, and Wołacz.

Polish grammar: Accusative – it isn’t so bad after all!

Today we’ll focus on one of the ‘cases’ – the one we use when saying: I like coffee, I have coffee, coffee please, I drink coffee (lubię kawę, mam kawę, proszę kawę, piję kawę).

We use the accusative form after verbs such as: to have, like, eat, drink, buy, read, know, watch, ask, order, visit, want, prefer, adore (mieć, lubić, jeść, pić, kupować, czytać, znać, oglądać, prosić, zamawiać, zwiedzać, mieć ochotę na, preferować, uwielbiać).

In Polish language grammar, the feminine forms in the accusative take the following forms: Lubię czarną kawę. Mam czerwoną toyotę. Piję zieloną herbatę. Jem zupę pomidorową. (I like black coffee. I have a red Toyota. I drink green tea. I eat tomato soup). So the noun ends in “” and the adjective with “”.

In masculine and neutral form, the noun and adjective remain in their infinitive form. For example: ‘duży dom’ (big house – masculine form) – kupuję duży dom (I’m buying a big house); ‘nowy samochód’ (new car – masculine) –  on ogląda nowy samochód (he’s looking at a new car); ‘zimne piwo’ (cold beer – neutral form) – oni zamawiają zimne piwo (they’re ordering a cold beer); ‘małe radio’ (small radio – neutral) – mam małe radio (I have a small radio). Ah! It’s not complicated!

But in Polish grammar, the exceptions are the most important…

A small problem arises when our friend says: ‘Mam ochotę na hamburgera!’ (I fancy a hamburger), ‘Preferuję pomidora niż ogórka!’ (I prefer tomato over cucumber)’. How?? Wait a moment! Hamburger, tomato, cucumber are all in the masculine form in Polish! So why don’t we say: ‘Mam ochotę na hamburger’, ‘Preferuję pomidor niż ogórek’?!? We’ll explain! ? In Polish grammar, there is a group of inanimate masculine nouns (things, not people) that take the ending “-a” in the accusative. Most of them are borrowings from other languages.

The exceptions are:

  1. Food, e.g.:– hamburger’ – Mam ochotę na hamburgera.
  2. Fruits and vegetables, e.g.: ‘banan’, ananas’, ‘arbuz’ (banana, pineapple, watermelon)– Na śniadanie zawsze jem banana. Uwielbiam ananasa i arbuza. (For breakfast I always eat banana. I adore pineapple and watermelon).
  3. Car brands, e.g.: ‘mercedes’, ford’ – Mój kolega kupił mercedesaMarek ma forda. (My friend bought a Mercedes. Marek has a Ford).
  4. Currencies, e.g.: ‘dolar’, ‘funt’ (dollar, pound)– Mam tylko dolara. Pożycz mi jednego funta. (I only have a dollar. Lend me a pound).
  5. Dances, e.g.: ‘walc’  (Waltz) – Oni pięknie tańczą walca angielskiego. (They dance the English Waltz beautifully).
  6. Games, e.g.: ‘squash’, ‘golf’ – Czy lubisz grać w squasha? Często gram w golfa. (Do you like playing squash? I often play golf).
  7. Substances, e.g. ‘papieros’, ‘szampan’(cigarette, champagne) – Palę papierosa. On pije szampana. (I’m smoking a cigarette. He’s drinking champagne).

Conclusion: Polish language grammar is not that scary, and the Polish language course at KLUB DIALOGU School is a great place to practice.

Accusative isn’t so bad after all ?. Sometimes, we simply have to organise and consolidate our knowledge. The Polish language course at KLUB DIALOGU School is the right place to not only repeat and systematise this knowledge, but also practice and polish the grammatical structures of the Polish language. You can find out more about accusative (biernik) HERE.

FILM FRIDAY IS ALREADY OUR TRADITION

… and our passion! These are cyclical meetings organised for students by the Polish Language School for Foreigners KLUB DIALOGU, during which we present Polish films with English subtitles. These films are important for social, political and/or cultural reasons, and thanks to them we try to show our students the history, tradition and mentality of Poles over the last 70 years.

In 2020 and 2021, we had the opportunity to present to our students such films as ‘Corpus Christi’ directed by Jan Komasa – a film nominated for an Oscar, dealing with the issues of morality; good and evil in relation to living conditions and situations. ‘Jasminum’ (directed by J.J. Kolski) tells a mysterious and magical story, full of romance, scents, and light. In this story about monks, people, buildings and smells have their secrets. ‘Man – Woman Wanted’ – is a great comedy by the great director – Stanisław Bareja – showing the life of Poles during the communist era. ‘Vabank’ – an excellent Polish crime comedy directed by Juliusz Machulski, gives an insight into the life and urban planning of the city of Łódź in the 1980s. ‘Maids of Wilka’, directed by Andrzej Wajda, is a psychological film nominated for an Oscar in the non-English-language film category. The return of the main character to the countryside revives memories and old feelings, forcing you to reflect on your fate. ‘Wałęsa, Man of Hope’ – is a film telling the history of great political changes in Poland after 1980, which ended with the fall of communism in 1989 in Poland, and at the same time changed world politics forever …

Each time, FILM FRIDAY attracted great interest among students who were eager to participate in these meetings both at school and online. These events are a unique adventure into the past – a person from another country can better understand mechanisms and lifestyle in Poland, which greatly facilitates acclimatisation in a new country. Each screening of a film is preceded by a short overview of the background of its creation, the director’s idea and the message that the film carries with it. During these exciting meetings, we not only watch movies, but also discuss, finding similarities and differences in comparison to other countries. FILM FRIDAY is also an excellent activity within learning the Polish language, supplementing Polish courses at the school.

OPINIONS

One of the people that passed the B1 certificate in 2020 is Julia. Julia said the following when she was asked about her experience at KLUB DIALOGU and about the exam itself:

“I will start with the fact that I like to learn foreign languages, and the Polish language course is not my first challenge. I really enjoyed the general Polish language course. Well-established, friendly relations in the group and great teachers were of great importance here. But it was time to prepare for the exam, so I had to change the nature of the class. I started a preparatory course. I believe, that exam preparation is important and necessary. Classes were easy and natural. In the preparatory process we went through almost all common exam tasks. Now not only do I advise, but I also strongly recommend a similar  preparation course to successfully pass the exam.”

Sandra, experienced teacher of KLUB DIALOGU has led courses that specifically prepare to the B1 examination. When asked about whether running such a course is different to other courses, she explained:

“The course is dedicated to students who want to take the B1 exam, so the structure of the course should differ from the one used for regular courses. Classes are longer, and all the exam elements are gone through each lesson.” She added with a smile, “Perhaps students are more tolerant of the language itself and are able to accept most of the language exceptions that appear at this level.”

When asked if she enjoys running these kinds of courses, and whether there’s a greater sense of pressure to ensure students to well to learn and remember everything to pass the exam, she expressed that,

“students at this level are already able to speak the language really well. This allows you to conduct cool discussions or even take up controversial topics. Positive reinforcement always works, but the most important thing is the student’s attitude and personal commitment.”

It is worth mentioning that using any additional learning tools, such as quizzes, role-playing, field exercises, etc. work on all levels, and it’s important to make classes as lively and interesting as possible, no matter if it’s a course to prepare for an exam or not.

So, once the exam session comes round and students who have learnt with us take it, we are eagerly waiting for the news of how it went. Just like all of us, Sandra explained how when we get the news that students have passed the exam, it’s a really great feeling, for them, but also for us!

“It is a great pleasure to receive such information from students. There are usually also thank you emails  that greatly motivate you to continue working, and student results arouse admiration and satisfaction.”

WHAT DO OUR TEACHERS SAY?

lekcje polskiego online

Viola, the school`s owner:

“Online Polish courses work great when: you live far away (in another city or country), you work a lot, your health does not allow you to leave your home, or you want to keep in touch with your class!”

lekcje polskiego online

Magda, a teacher for 8 years:

‘It’s better to play an online quiz than to do grammar exercises all the time. Regardless of age, the principle of learning Polish by playing still works. I highly recommend the Polish course online!’.

Wioletka-kursy-online

Wioletta, a teacher for 5 years:

‘Students who had no previous contact with online learning quickly “became accustomed” to it. It`s an invaluable form for those who work a lot or live abroad, but contact with Polish is important for them!’

lekcje polskiego online

Oliwia, a teacher for 3 years:

“I have always enjoyed technological innovations and I like to use various educational platforms during Polish lessons’.

WHAT DO OUR STUDENTS SAY?

Brian, USA:

‘Online classes with KLUB DIALOGU School for foreigners have been really effective: a great way to seamlessly integrate technology into the language lesson. I plan to continue my Polish course online until I achieve fluency in Polish. It has proven to be quite convenient for me!’

Alessia, Italy:

‘I’ve been having Polish lessons online for some time now. Earlier I haven`t had the opportunity to do this and I thought that only direct contact is important for learning. Now I know that thanks to such classes I have more time for myself because I don’t have to go to school and I can study at home. It`s very convenient!

Alberto, Italy:

‘I think online lessons are convenient because I have more time for my professional matters. Of course, there are some problems from time to time and I can’t understand well, but it’s like in a real world, where different people speak in a different way!’

KLUB DIALOGU is the Polish language school for foreigners that is constantly developing. That is why our students can value us. Teaching is our passion – nothing is impossible for us! Learning Polish online can be for everyone.

EVENTS

THE KAYAKING ADVENTURE. WKRA 2023

The canoeing adventure as usual gave us a lot of positive energy for the next days. At the beginning, we were going slowly down the river Wkra for about 2,5 hours. During that time we explored nature being as close as possible to it, watching birds and small insects around us. Even those, who were kayaking for the first time in their lives managed to make it and ended their adventure with smiles and happiness.

After kayaking we had a barbeque and played volleyball and other outdoor games. It was a fantastic day! Thank you for being with us!

See the pictures below.

KD’s 19th BIRTHDAY PARTY. IT HAPPENED!

Thank you all for coming to the Birthday Party. We hope that everyone enjoyed the atmosphere of a little forgotten Slavic holiday of summer and love ❤ There was a lot of laughter during the blind date, delicious cake, and endless conversations together!
We believe that this event aroused the curiosity of Polish traditions!

See the movie below.

SUMMER TIME, LOVELY TIME

Summer is a special time. It is a time of work, meeting friends, and relaxation. At KLUB DIALOGU School it’s a time of intensive learning of the Polish language, and fun during summer events! We hope your vacation time was good and interesting too!

See the movie: summer at KLUB DIALOGU 2022

ORIENTARIUM – A TRIP TO THE ZOO IN ŁÓDŹ

We started our series of events ‘SUMMER 2022’ on 4th June with a trip to the city of Łódź, to the Orientarium. The Orientarium is a very modern zoo, inhabited not only by land animals, but also aquatic animals, such as sharks, rays, as well as corals, anemones, and others. We definitely recommend it!

After visiting the Zoo, we walked along the longest street in Łódź – Piotrkowska. We are glad that you were with us!

EASTER MEETING ‘SOLIDARITY WITH UKRAINE’ IN KLUB DIALOGU

Bunny rabbits, lambs, painted eggs, and special cut-outs – all this was in the EASTER BASKET after the event organised last Friday by the Polish Language School for Foreigners KLUB DIALOGU. This unique meeting attracted over 30 people: big, medium-sized, and the smallest ones, who were equally passionate about preparing Easter decorations by themselves.

Even before the start of ‘handicrafts’, our teacher Wioletka conducted a charming and interesting phonetic workshop of the Polish language, introducing us to the secrets of Polish pronunciation, using the example of Easter vocabulary!

The whole event was dedicated to our Ukrainian friends. In this way, we wanted to express our solidarity and support, and express our wishes for peace and the happy return of a free country, although there are no words that would seem appropriate in this situation…

As always, we warmly invite you to our Polish language courses. KLUB DIALOGU school creates a unique atmosphere, building a one-of-a-kind, multicultural community.

FILM FRIDAY IS ALREADY OUR TRADITION…

… and our passion! These are cyclical meetings organised for students by KLUB DIALOGU, during which we present Polish films with English subtitles. These films are important for social, political and cultural reasons, and thanks to them we try to show our students the history, tradition and mentality of Poles over the last 70 years. During these exciting meetings, we not only watch movies, but also discuss. FILM FRIDAY is also an excellent activity within learning the Polish language, supplementing Polish courses at the school. MARCH OF SOLIDARITY WITH REFUGEES

We, employees of KLUB DIALOGU, which is not only an educational institution, but also a Polish language school for foreigners, and a place for meetings, conversations, and exchange of experiences between people from different continents and cultures, cannot accept violations of the law and international conventions and situations where medical aid for refugees is refused, risking their health and even death.  Read more >>

SUMMER 2021. THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US!

Saying goodbye to summer is never easy, and summer 2021 is already behind us.  Luckily, after a one-year break, we managed to organise a summer calendar full of KLUB DIALOGU events.  Despite the worldwide pandemic, many difficulties and limitations, we spent this time very intensively and effectively, and the return of our side events sweetened us even more than usual!  So what’s so special about this summer?  Read more >>

CANOEING

Canoeing is already a tradition part of KLUB DIALOGU summer events.  We have already canoed the Świder and Wkra rivers (2 times), and now our brave students have tried their hand at the Pilica river.  Fortunately, you don’t have to be a seasoned canoeist to spend an unforgettable day close to nature, surrounded by ducks, swans and aquatic plants.  36 brave canoeists, having successfully reached their destination, spent then time by the fire, roasting sausages, playing football and volleyball, and of course talking in 100 languages of the world!  ?.  Thank you and see you next year!

INTENSIVE PHONETIC TRAINING

Is the pronunciation of Polish sounds difficult for you?  Which sounds are the most complicated for you?  We know that the Polish language can be a challenge, so in the evening, after lessons, we invited students for an INTENSIVE PHONETIC TRAINING by the Wisła River.  Besides learning, it was great fun!  Students had the opportunity to practice such popular expressions as: cieszę się, dzięki! wstrząśnięty, lecz nie zmieszany, jestem szczególnie uszczęśliwiony, Kasia płaciła przy kasie za kaszę. ?

12 + 5 BIRTHDAY OF CLUB DIALOGU

On 2nd July, KLUB DIALOGU celebrated its 12 + 5th BIRTHDAY.  Why 12 + 5?  Well, the school was founded 17 years ago, so we have extensive experience in teaching Polish as a foreign language, but for 5 years it has been managed by new owners, Viola and Piotr, who gave the School a modern chic makeover and bring a lot of loveliness to the place!

Over 50 people came to our birthday party!  It was thanks to our wonderful students that it was an amazing evening full of attractions, conversations, making new friends and laughter. There was also a birthday cake and champagne.  And finally – a surprise!  THE CIRCLE OF FORTUNE, where with every ticket came a prize.  The biggest attraction for 12 people was a voucher for their next course.  Congratulations!

CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS AT KLUB DIALOGU

On Friday 11th December 2020, a long-awaited event took place at KLUB DIALOGU! (of course, with safety precautions). Our new teachers: Zosia and Irenka prepared a Christmas program. We learned new words and traditions from Poland and other countries, we decorated gingerbread cookies and sang Christmas carols. It was very nice and we had a lot of fun! We are waiting for the good times of the regular events to return, during which there will be a lot of us and everyone will have a great time.

KLUB DIALOGU GOES CANOEING

We embarked on our 3rd annual canoeing adventure at the weekend, 6th July,. We canoed down the beautiful river Wkra for around 2 hours. Once we reached our destination we ate a grill, talked all together and played volleyball. Even despite the rainy weather, it was a really fantastic trip full of laughs. We want to thank those who came who made it another event not to forget in a hurry, and for those who couldn’t make it, we welcome you to our next events!

THE 3RD ANNIVERSARY of KLUB DIALOGU

KLUB DIALOGU turned 3 under its new ownership of Viola and Piotr and on Friday we celebrated in style at the school! A lot of guests came amongst whom were our great students, teachers and friends and family.

The main attraction of the night was our game ‘Students have talent’. There were 3 teams of students and the game consisted of different categories, such as ‘advertisements’ where different products such as toilet paper, sausages and toothpaste had to be advertised (it was really amazing!!), ‘karaoke’ and ‘tongue twisters’. Our panel of judges had to award points to each team based on their performance.

Next we ate really delicious cake complete with our logo making it all the more special.

Finally we went on to giving out the awards. These prizes were awarded to: students who have studied at KLUB DIALOGU from A0 level up to B1, to ‘exceptionally loyal students’ as well as to our outstanding teachers and staff members.

Thank you all for making it a terrific birthday and for being with us! We are so proud of you all and of our school!

KLUB DIALOGU GOES BOWLING

Klub Dialogu went bowling and we had a blast 😉 learning Polish is never boring, but with us you can always GUARANTEE fun twists, turns and adventures along the way.

VALENTINE`S DAY

IT WAS NOT JUST A REGULAR EVENING – IT WAS VALENTINE`S!

In what other Polish school can you play ‘blind date’, dance on newspaper and receive letters from a secret admirer? My guess is only in Klub Dialogu ?

On Friday, 15th we hosted our Valentines event and it was, of course, a lot of fun. We first played 4 rounds of ‘blind date’ (‘randka w ciemno’) and the winners together with their match of each round went on to play other small games… the winners received a voucher of 100zł for a cafe. The voucher was cut into two pieces, however, so in order to redeem the prize, the pair has to go there together!! ? ?

We later on opened letters that we received from secret admirers ? that they had put in our Valentines Box during the past couple of weeks in school.

It was another beautiful event and we hope to see you all on the next one! Thank you for coming ? and now have a look at the pictures to see our event for yourselves!

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Our event on Friday, 9th 2018 was such a success. Thank you to everyone that came and made it so special – how wonderful to celebrate 100 year anniversary with you all! We played ‘kalambury’ (charades), and had a quiz about Poland.
What’s more, thank you to everyone who made a video/photo contribution for our competition. Congrats to Alex who won!!

METHOD OF TEACHING POLISH
AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
AT KLUB DIALOGU SCHOOL

Hi there,

My name is Violetta Kunicka-Kajczuk and I have been a lecturer and the owner of the Polish Language School for Foreigners KLUB DIALOGU for the past 12 and 6 years, respectively. It is a school filled with passion, which has taught Polish (one of the most difficult languages) for over 17 years.

Due to our many years of experience, we have our own original method of teaching, that has already helped over 5,000 foreigners.

What is our original method of teaching Polish as a foreign language based on? It is based on natural mechanisms of memory and association, which increase the concentration and efficiency of the brain. We place great emphasis on the living aspect of communication. Thanks to this approach, our students:

  • Have confidence to speak in the Polish language;
  • Naturally absorb a particular batch of material that is remembered better and is more permanent, and learning becomes a pleasure, not an obligation;
  • Begin to use their newly acquainted Polish language skills in everyday life.

We would like to remind you, however, that you cannot learn a foreign language if you do not have the right motivation. Our methods stimulate your own motivation, but nobody can learn for you.

Trust us and try us!

Best of luck,

Violetta Kunicka-Kajczuk

We are happy to say that 99% of our students give us the best reviews and recommend us to their friends. Here is one opinion of many:

I am beyond impressed with Klub Dialogu. Not only did the courses help me reach level B2 from a complete beginner in only 8 months, the teaching staff have nurtured real friendships among us students and provided multiple opportunities to speak Polish outside of the classroom with native speakers. Klub Dialogu is more than a school – it’s like an honorary polish citizenship. If you’re looking for polish courses in Poland, you couldn’t make a better choice.

I am very impressed and highly satisfied with Klub Dialogu. I have taken classes with many teachers at the school who all share the same passion and drive in teaching. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The school focuses on having small groups, which creates a calm atmosphere as well as giving every student a good opportunity to practice their conversational skills. I would recommend courses at Klub Dialogu for anyone who would like to study the Polish language.
